Ms. Muneera Aldossary

With over 20 years of experience in the financial and investment sectors, I have held leadership positions at both local and international investment firms. Throughout my career, I have managed approximately SAR 30 billion in assets across various investment products, including equities, real estate, private equity, and sukuk. I have been honored to serve in several prominent leadership roles, including Chief Investment Officer at HSBC Saudi Arabia, Head of Asset Management at Al Arab Financial, and CEO of Mulkia Investment. Prior to these, I led the equities division at Saudi Fransi Capital. Currently, I serve as a Board Member at Saudi Industrial Services Company (SISCO), a publicly listed firm in the Saudi stock market. My educational journey began after graduating from the Institute of Public Administration with a specialization in Banking. I joined Banque Saudi Fransi and, after about three years, decided to continue my academic studies by enrolling at the Arab Open University. I was initially concerned about balancing my career with academic demands, but I soon found great enjoyment in both, and the experience proved to be very rewarding. What drew me most to the Arab Open University was its exceptional flexibility in education and its pioneering adoption of digital learning. At the time, the university stood out in Saudi Arabia for offering a unique blend of online and in-person learning, with easy access to course materials and recorded lectures—an approach that later became more widely adopted globally, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic. As a full-time employee, the ability to attend lectures after work or on weekends was invaluable. The university's examination system was also structured to accommodate working professionals, enabling me to pursue my academic ambitions without compromising my professional performance. In the investment field, I have achieved numerous milestones. My managed investment products consistently outperformed market benchmarks and earned multiple awards. One of my proudest accomplishments was the successful introduction of innovative investment instruments in the Saudi market. Additionally, in my role as Chair of the Capital Market Institutions Committee under the Capital Market Authority, I worked alongside colleagues to launch nine subcommittees aimed at advancing recommendations and driving initiatives to enhance the Kingdom’s investment environment.

Rami Farid

This was the opportunity to travel as part of the American University delegation to attend the National Model United Nations Conference in New York, USA. During the conference discussions, and out of a belief in the mission of open education, I was keen to advance this issue with the goal of supporting youth and establishing the United Nations' sustainable development goals. At the conclusion of the conference, I was honored to be honored at the headquarters of this international organization at the General Assembly, where world leaders meet every September. Shahira Saeid

I went to get acquainted with the university and gained a good understanding of it. As soon as I arrived, I was amazed by the extent of its advanced curricula and the development of electronic means for easy communication between students and professors. Above all, I was impressed by the distinguished elite of Egyptian university professors. I did not leave the university until I was honored to submit an application to this great institution to study English literature and sciences; to become a teacher of the English language and literature I love. I cannot hide from you the extent of my suffering throughout my time at the college, balancing my work, following up on my children, household affairs, and my studies. However, what truly motivated me to continue was the quality of education I found at this wonderful college, the competence of the professors who teach and guide students, and the adjustments I witnessed in my way of thinking about various matters and my evaluation of them. All of this was a strong motivation to confront the difficult circumstances I faced throughout the four years.

Nesreen Allam

My name is Nasrin Allam, I'm an AOU graduate. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature. I graduated also with AGPA of 3.88. I would love to share my experience as an AOU graduate. I enjoyed the experience of the blended learning. Also, we are taught about everything in our major, like at the core of English language and literature. It actually created a passion in me to pursue higher education. So I decided to join the AOU masters program. And from the from the start, it's, it's very beautiful, very concise. It's, it's basically it's amazing. Also, I'm I have the opportunity to be a part time tutor while studying the MA. So now I'm studying and teaching. So I'm gaining both experiences in a in a balanced way as a teacher, in as a university teacher and also as a researcher for the masters studies. It was a beautiful experience and in the end I would love to to meet new colleagues and I would love to have like the opportunity to see more people coming and joining our university.

Ayman Amokadem

First, I would like to introduce myself. I am a captain with EgyptAir. I started with EgyptAir in 1982 as a co-pilot on the smallest aircraft model, progressing from the smallest to the largest, then the largest, then the largest. Then, there was another shift from one model to another, until, in 2001, I lost the largest aircraft model at EgyptAir, the Boeing 777. I worked as a pilot, accumulating approximately 18,000 flight hours at EgyptAir. I worked in training and teaching at EgyptAir, and I also worked at EgyptAir in various capacities. My relationship with the Arab Open University began with one of my colleagues at work. One of her friends told me that she had enrolled at the university, and that the study program suited her circumstances. I enrolled at the university, having been selected as a pilot instructor on the aircraft maintenance crew at EgyptAir Airlines (a subsidiary of the EgyptAir Holding Company). I had applied for aviation safety at the University of Bradford in England, earning a diploma in aviation safety after completing five courses over two years. During that time at university, I enrolled in several courses to develop my administrative skills. I believed that the course and the university's decision had fully qualified me for the management field, and I didn't need any further courses. Therefore, I decided to begin my studies at the university in Cairo, taking one of the required courses. I then continued my studies until I secured an administrative position alongside my flight schedule as a pilot for EgyptAir.

Mahmoud Elsayed Sabah

My journey began to accelerate after I graduated in June 2018. I worked during my studies, of course, due to my personal circumstances. My position at that time was an electronics and software maintenance technician in the industrial sector. After graduating, I jumped into many positions and traveled across continents within a few years, thanks to God Almighty. I started as a senior software developer in Egypt, then progressed to team leader, then manager, and finally regional manager. I then decided to transition into business, and now I have my own startup in the United States. I am very grateful to God for every milestone in my journey and the opportunities He has given me. I have never forgotten all the challenges and difficulties I faced along the way, but I realize that all these experiences have shaped my career path and have kept me growing and learning.

nour Eldien Mohamed

I am Noor Eldin Mohamed Abdalhafeez Elsaid, a proud graduate of Arab Open University - Egypt. I completed my Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design and Multimedia Design Technology in September 2019/2020, achieving a GPA of 3.1 (very good). During my time at Arab Open University - Egypt Branch, I embarked on a journey of self-improvement and professional growth. I seized opportunities to enhance my skills and make a meaningful impact in the field of graphic design and multimedia. While pursuing my degree, I ventured into the world of freelancing, taking on various graphic design projects. This hands-on experience allowed me to apply what I was learning in the classroom, ultimately enriching my understanding of the subject matter. As a result, I excelled in my university courses, thanks to the practical knowledge I gained through my university. Moreover, I actively engaged in student activities, honing my problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and overall life knowledge. These extracurricular experiences enriched my personal growth and taught me invaluable life lessons. One of the pivotal milestones of my academic journey was my graduation project—a mobile/PC game that encompassed both 2D and 3D elements. This project required a deep understanding of Adobe software, further solidifying my proficiency in graphic design tools. It paved the way for my success in the graphic design market. Following my graduation, I embarked on a diverse and dynamic career path. I began as a junior graphic designer at an agency, where I had the privilege to work with renowned celebrities such as Assala, Durra, Saber Rebae, Ramy Sabry, and many others. In addition to my agency work, I established my own YouTube channel, which has since garnered over 1 million views and approximately 20,000 subscribers. Through this platform, I educate aspiring graphic designers on navigating the industry and meeting market demands. Later, I joined "Brand Stamp," another agency, where I continued to collaborate with prominent figures and expand my portfolio. Taking the entrepreneurial leap, I founded "Pixelonic," an online advertising agency specializing in social media needs and advertising. My agency has had the privilege of partnering with major companies in Egypt. My journey extended beyond borders as I traveled to Europe to cover media for SICFB'23 in Finland with Tampere University, followed by a media assignment in the Netherlands with the Formal Student Netherlands in Assen at TT-Circuit Assen. Furthermore, I assumed the role of an instructor, both online and offline, guiding and mentoring individuals on their path to becoming successful graphic designers. This commitment to teaching has allowed me to continue learning and taking on new projects on a global scale. In conclusion, I owe a significant debt of gratitude to Arab Open University - Egypt Branch for nurturing my growth and providing me with the knowledge and skills to succeed in the dynamic field of graphic design. Mona Abbas Al-Abbas

Mona Abbas Al-Abbas, a 2008 graduate of the Arab Open University in the Kingdom of Bahrain, holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Management Systems. She is a distinguished leader in the field of Human Resources Management, with over 18 years of experience across various sectors. Her academic journey began with an Associate Diploma in Electronic Engineering from the University of Bahrain. In 2004, driven by a strong ambition to earn a bachelor's degree, Mona enrolled at the Arab Open University. She was drawn to the university’s flexible blended learning system, which suited her career responsibilities and financial circumstances. During her studies, Mona faced significant personal challenges—most notably becoming a mother to two children. Despite the demands of family life and work, she persevered and graduated with distinction, earning top honors and maintaining a perfect GPA of 4.0, ranking first in her class. Following graduation, Mona advanced rapidly in her career, eventually taking on the role of Senior Human Resources Manager at Mercury MENA (Middle East), where she held various leadership positions. She further deepened her expertise by earning a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Strathclyde in the United Kingdom. Mona later ventured into entrepreneurship, launching her first consultancy, Ithraa Statistical Consulting, in 2016. She then co-founded NewGen Management Consulting, where she currently serves as Founder and General Manager. Through NewGen, she provides strategic advisory services in Human Resources Management. Mona also plays an active role in professional development, conducting training workshops and delivering lectures as a part-time faculty member at the University of Strathclyde – Bahrain. With a track record of excellence and a passion for empowering others, Mona Al-Abbas continues to make significant contributions to the field of HR and organizational development, embodying the values of resilience, vision, and leadership.

Hakeem Al-Yafaie

Hakeem Al-Yafaie, a 2015 alumnus, holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Administrative Systems) from Arab Open University; Kingdom of Bahrain. Hakeem began his journey of defiance on the day he had a traffic accident on his way to university to attend lectures, the matter that left him with a right leg disability. Nonetheless, it was a positive turning point in his life, as Hakeem began to practice daily walks as part of a treatment program prescribed for his rehabilitation. He also started to take up other challenging sports activities that would facilitate his rehab. Hakeem proved himself in his determination to succeed. He faced his disability, work and study simultaneously. He was a distinguished student at the University as a member of the Student Council and a volunteer student to teach his peers. He also represented the University in a number of internal and external events and activities. In terms of study and self-development, Hakeem’s ambition, that has not faded since his bachelor’s degree drove him to develop his qualifications and skills. He, therefore, obtained a diploma in Office Management, a diploma in Human Resources and, finally, a diploma in Information Systems. Last but not least, Hakeem obtained a Master's degree in Human Resources Management with distinction from the University of Bahrain. Hakeem is an active player in Bahrain's Paralympic rowing team. He also is very much interested in Hiking, and he has made a number of achievements in this area of interest. Hakeem is the first (self-determined) disabled Bahraini to reach the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro, which is the highest volcanic peak in Africa (Tanzania), and the fourth in the world. Moreover, he has arrived at many of the highest world’s mountain peaks, such as those of Switzerland, the highest peak in France, the highest peak in Saudi Arabia, and, just recently, Toubkal, the highest mountain peak in the Mediterranean, located in the Kingdom of Morocco. Hakeem believes that disability is never a hindrance, but rather a key to do the best in life. Khitam Abu Al-Rub

A mother of five sons and three daughters Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration Ever since I was young, I had a dream. Despite the many responsibilities I carried—including raising eight children, having a job, and being a wife—I decided to take on this challenge and not stop. I chose the Arab Open University and enrolled there. But life wasn’t easy for me, with its heavy blows and obstacles. One of the first challenges was being diagnosed with cancer. While I was still trying to adapt to living with this illness, I was struck by the sudden death of my life partner, my husband—leaving me with the full responsibility of our children, including a daughter with a disability. I had to manage my time and set priorities between work, children, grandchildren, my illness, and the grief of losing my husband. I embraced the challenge, and here I am today—graduated from the Arab Open University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. I drew my strength from my professors, my children, and my grandchildren. With determination and willpower, every difficulty became manageable.

Nadia Mahmoud Abu Al-Arja

A mother of five and a grandmother – 62 years old Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Literature The joy of life lies in perseverance, and age is just a number that does not stand in the way of achieving a dream. I began my journey after graduating from the Commercial Institute in the State of Kuwait. At that time, job opportunities were limited, but my ambition and dreams were great. The challenge at the beginning was how to find a job, continue my education, and obtain a bachelor’s degree. That’s when I chose the Arab Open University in Kuwait and began my journey of perseverance. Eventually, I found a simple job as a teaching assistant in English language education, based on my experience—even though I didn't yet hold a degree in the field. While working at the Sada Educational Center for People with Disabilities, and with the encouragement of my colleagues and the support of the professors at the university, I continued working and pursued my studies. Life is made up of phases that we overcome through determination. One of the major challenges I faced was the COVID-19 pandemic, which coincided with my final course at the university. But thankfully, the university was well-prepared for such circumstances, and I did not face any delays in my graduation. In fact, I graduated during the "Year of COVID" in 2020. Since then, I’ve continued to develop myself through my work, and I am now an English language instructor at the very same institute.

Suad Ibrahim Mohammed Al-Hamri

Suad Ibrahim Mohammed Al-Hamri Age: 63 A mother of three young men, an employee, and a graduate of the Arab Open University Major: Business Administration I enrolled in the university with ambition and a dream—I wanted to achieve personal fulfillment by obtaining a bachelor's degree, despite the many responsibilities of life: being a wife, a mother, and an employee, and doing so while I was approaching my sixties.
